One sterilization record. Inspector-ready in a click.
The free tool from your spore-test lab only tracks its own strips. ClaveLog ties every lab, every autoclave, and every location into one board-ready packet — so whoever gets asked “show me your logs” always has the answer.

§ 01 — How it works
Three steps between you and a clean inspection
Scan & log in seconds
A QR sticker on each sterilizer opens the log for that machine. Your team records the load and chemical indicator in under 10 seconds — no login, right from the station iPad or their phone.
Track spore tests from any lab
Mail-in lab, university program, or in-office incubator — ClaveLog works with all of them. A failed test automatically walks your team through the CDC take-offline-and-retest protocol, timestamped.
Print an inspector packet in one click
When the board shows up, generate a clean, timestamped PDF of your entire sterilization history — loads, spore tests, waterline, and training — formatted the way an inspector wants to see it.
§ 02 — Vendor-neutral by design
The one thing the free lab portals structurally can't do.
The dashboards bundled with your spore kits are free for a reason: they only accept their own lab's results. Use a second lab, an in-office incubator, or run two offices on different vendors, and your compliance picture splinters across portals that will never talk to each other.
ClaveLog is vendor-neutral by design — it ingests every lab and incubator, logs every autoclave load, and rolls it all up into one board-ready packet across every location. That's the record an inspector actually asks for, and no kit-tethered tool can build it.
- Any mail-in lab, university program, or in-office incubator — one record
- Every autoclave load logged in seconds from a phone or station iPad
- One board-ready packet across every sterilizer and every location
- Failed spore tests trigger the CDC corrective protocol automatically
- Flat, honest pricing. No hardware, no kit lock-in, no per-strip tax.
§ 03 — Comparison
Where the other options fall short
An honest look. Lab portals really are free — but they only track their own strips. Compliance suites do a lot, but sterilization is usually one checkbox buried in a bigger, pricier product.
| Capability | Paper binder | Free lab portal | Compliance suite | ClaveLog |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Works with any spore lab | Limited | Limited | ||
| Logs every autoclave load | Limited | Limited | ||
| One-click inspector packet | Limited | |||

| Multi-location rollup | ||||
| Price | Your time | Free — kit-locked | $149–379/mo | $99–179/mo per location |
“Limited” = possible but manual, kit-dependent, or a secondary feature. Prices are typical published ranges, not quotes.
§ 04 — Capabilities
Everything your sterilization record needs
Per-sterilizer QR logging
One sticker per machine. Scan, log, done.
Vendor-neutral spore tracking
Any lab, any incubator. Never locked to one kit supplier.
CDC failure protocol built in
A failed spore test triggers the exact corrective steps, documented automatically.
Waterline & training logs
Quarterly waterline testing and staff training records in the same record.
Reminders that prevent violations
Email nudges before a spore test is due — the #1 reason boards cite practices.
One-click inspector packet
Your full multi-year history as a formatted PDF, anytime.
§ 05 — Founder's note
Why we built ClaveLog
Practices almost never fail an inspection because they skipped sterilization. They fail because the paper proving they didn't was in a binder nobody could find, missing a month, or spread across three different lab portals that don't talk to each other.
We think that's backwards. The office does the hard part right every single day — the record of it shouldn't be hostage to whoever happens to sell you spore strips this year. So we built one vendor-neutral place to log every load, track every test, and hand an inspector a clean packet in a click.

§ 06 — Questions
Questions office managers ask us
Is my practice's data safe?+
Every record is append-only and timestamped — nothing is ever silently deleted or edited. Corrections are captured with an audit trail showing who changed what and when. Data is encrypted, backed up, and access is scoped to your practice with row-level security.
Do you store any patient information?+
No. ClaveLog logs machines, cycles, and spore tests — never patients. No names, no charts, no treatment data ever enters the system by design. That keeps your compliance records entirely out of HIPAA scope while still proving your sterilization program works.
What if I switch spore labs?+
Nothing breaks. The lab is just a free-text field, so you can use a mail-in lab, a university program, and an in-office incubator at the same time — or switch vendors next month — and your entire history stays in one continuous record.
What's in the inspector packet?+
A single timestamped PDF per location: every autoclave load, chemical-indicator results, spore tests and their outcomes, any failed-test corrective actions, plus waterline and training records — with the state citation an inspector expects to see.
Do staff need their own accounts?+
No. Logging happens on a trusted device (the station iPad or a phone) where staff just tap their initials — no passwords to reset, no seats to buy. Only owners and admins log into the dashboard.
What happens after the free trial?+
The 14-day trial converts to the plan you picked. Cancel anytime from the billing portal before it ends and you won't be charged. Your data stays exportable as an inspector packet either way.
Can I import my old paper binder?+
You can enter past spore tests as historical backfill — clearly marked as imported — so your test history reads continuously from day one. Load logs start the moment you go live and are captured live from then on. Either way, keep the binder as your archive; going forward there's one record.
No patient data, ever. Append-only records with a full audit trail.
Never fail an inspection over a missing log again.
